My Day With Mansions

Today I went to The Breakers!

(The picture was taken with my new camera!)

It really was awesome because it was a historic place and it was gigantic and full of shiny things! There was an audio tour of the house or should I say mansion? After that I went to Rosecliff. There was another audio tour of that mansion. Finally we went to the Marble Mansion and had yet another audio tour. This, I thought, is getting ridiculous.  But then we came home. Then we went to Chipotle where I got a taco, and now we are home.

At one of the mansions there was a painting of a boy holding three kittens!

Also, I met some kids today.  Their names were Matthew and Timothy.

I made friends with them and one of them got a splinter or something in his foot but I’m not sure what it was. I liked them because they were really nice even though they liked to throw grass on my head.

I say “Thanks Mommy” for the help you gave me with editing this post and “Thanks Daddy” for helping me with the pictures.

  1. What a great post! I went on a five week RV trip with my family when I was 10, and your writing about your day totally reminds me of it. I wish I had a blog to look back on now that I’m grown up and have kids!

  4. Great post J!!! And excellent pictures. I enjoyed the Breakers when I saw them when I was around your age–the audio tours are probably the same. 🙂

I loved reading about your day! xo

  5. Jules! You visited two of my favorite mansions in Newport! Rosecliff being super-duper favorite. I love the white, heart-shaped staircase and the beautiful living room that brings to mind the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles.

Hope you have lots more pictures to share during your trip!

  6. Juliana, what a fantastic look into your day! That sounds like a ton of audio tours… when you’re in India, my favorite audio tour was at this palace, which you should check out if you go to Jaipur! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawa_Mahal

We really loved keeping up with what you’re doing, and hope to read more and see some more of your photography.

PS: We also had tacos tonight 🙂

  7. I’ve never been to these places, so your photo of the mansion is appreciated. It’s spectacular! I wish I’d seen the portrait with the kittens. I suppose it reminds one of how real families lived in such imposing buildings. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

  10. Wow! 3 audio tours in a day! I don’t think I’d do too well with that either. The “cottages” look beautiful though.

Great job on your blog entry
